Perimenopause Support in Burlington

The transition into menopause can start years before your last period. We start by understanding what is shifting, then build a plan around it.

What Perimenopause Feels Like

Perimenopause is the stretch of years leading up to menopause, when your hormone levels start to fluctuate. Cycles can become irregular, and it's common to notice changes in sleep, mood, energy, temperature and how your body holds weight.

One of the harder parts is that the symptoms overlap with so much else. Low energy, poor sleep and mood changes could be hormonal, or they could have another driver, or several at once. That overlap is exactly why an assessment matters before anyone recommends a plan.

The Assessment

How We Work Out What Is Going On

Your first visit starts with your story: what you're noticing, when it began, and how it affects your days. From there your practitioner reviews your health history and may recommend testing to fill in the picture.

Because our team covers more than one discipline, a plan can address more than one thread at a time. Perimenopause support often sits alongside naturopathic care and hormone support when that makes sense for you.

Questions People Ask Us First

How is perimenopause different from menopause?

Perimenopause is the transition leading up to menopause, when hormone levels fluctuate and periods become irregular. Menopause is the point when you've gone twelve months without a period. The symptoms can overlap, which is part of why an assessment helps clarify where you are.

Do I need a diagnosis before booking?

No. Part of what the assessment does is help clarify what is going on and what may be behind it. You don't need anything sorted out in advance to be seen.

What if I am already seeing another provider?

That's fine and it helps. Bring any relevant history or test results and we can factor them in, and coordinate with your other providers within your circle of care where useful.
