About Doug Mathieu
Doug graduated from the University of Windsor in 1987 with a Bachelor of Human Kinetics, then completed a Diploma in Sports Injury Management at Sheridan College in 1990, where he received the Robert Firth Memorial Award for excellence in athletic therapy. In 2002 he earned his Diploma in Osteopathic Manual Practice from the Canadian College of Osteopathy and was awarded the Louisa Burns Award for excellence in research after defending his thesis.
Over the years Doug has completed many manual therapy courses, including Muscle Energy, Cranial Osteopathy, Cranial Nerve Mobilization, Visceral Manipulation, Ligamentous Articular Strain, and concussion management and treatment. His work with sports injuries started in 1990 as an assistant athletic therapist with the Toronto Argonauts, and he has since worked with athletes from community to national level across hockey, football, figure skating, soccer and dance.
Doug has years of experience treating back and neck pain, sciatica, repetitive strain injuries, and upper and lower extremity conditions. Outside the clinic he enjoys cycling, the gym, spin classes, scuba diving and boating.
