Johann Kong

Johann Kong has practised as a clinical social worker for over 30 years, supporting children, youth, adults and families through a wide range of mental health difficulties. He is focused on helping people keep moving toward emotional and psychological well-being so they can live according to what they value.

Johann holds a Masters degree in Social Work along with two bachelor degrees, in Social Work and in English and Sociology, and a Certificate in Human Resources Management. He has training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy and mindfulness, and also draws on narrative, solution-focused and other approaches gathered over decades of continuous learning.

Alongside private practice, Johann works at McMaster Children's Hospital, teaches counselling in a social service worker program at Sheridan College, and supervises MSW practicum students and developing therapists. He is licensed with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers and is a member in good standing with the Ontario Association of Social Workers.
